| Hiroshi Maruyama
Prior to becoming President of JITI, Hiroshi Maruyama has held many positions since joining the Ministry of Transport, currently the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), in 1972. He was the Director of the Ship Officers Division in the Maritime Technology and Safety Bureau from 1990 to 1991, and from 1992 to 1994, he worked as the Director of the Financial Affairs Division in the Railway Bureau. He has also worked in such positions as the Director General of Administration in the Civil Aviation Bureau, Vice Director General of the Policy Bureau, Director General of Policy Planning, Director General of the Road Transport Bureau, and Director General of the Policy Bureau, and Vice Minister for International Affairs.
Mr. Maruyama has had a diplomatic career at the Embassy of Japan in France. Mr. Maruyama earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tokyo University.
