KazuoTakei

President and CEO, Defense System Group, Hitachi, Ltd.

Mr. Kazuo Takei has worked as President and CEO of the Defense Systems Group for Hitachi, Ltd. since 2001.
Mr. Takei joined Hitachi, Ltd. in 1971 as Engineer of Control Computer, and served as Marketing & Sales Manager of Display Monitors at Hitachi America, Ltd from1978 through 1984. After serving as manager at several major Works or Head Quarter Offices in Hitachi, Ltd., he was promoted to General Manager at Telecommunication Division, Hitachi, Ltd. in 1997. Since then he has been engaged in the defense and security business and in developing new technologies in that field. In 2000 when the Defense Systems Group was established, he became Executive Vice President & COO at Defense Systems Group.

Mr. Takei received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ibaraki in 1969 and 1971, respectively.
