Seminar on Transportation and the Environment -Promoting Green Logistics-
PURPOSE
In recent years, as part of their corporate social responsibility, companies in Japan and the U.S. have been implementing business strategies that incorporate an element of environmental protection by balancing their economic activities with a reduction of these activities' impact on the environment. Freight companies and shippers have been developing initiatives to promote green logistics that will have a minimal impact on the environment while maintaining or promoting efficiency. Also, both governments are promoting policies that encourage private sector initiatives to control or reduce emissions in the field of logistics.
At this seminar, top leaders from government and private entities will focus on these issues, and through individual presentations and a panel discussion, help us understand what measures we should take to further develop green logistics through public-private sector partnerships.
