  Daniel Furlong

Assistant Director, International Affairs, Transportation Security Administration

Daniel Furlong has been with the international program of the United States (U.S.) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) since May 2002. His current position is Area Director in the Office of International Affairs, where his responsibilities include agency-wide coordination of transportation security policy issues concerning Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America, and management of several overseas offices. Previous positions with TSA have included Area Manager for International Operations in Singapore.

Prior to joining TSA, Mr. Furlong served as a manager in the hazardous materials training program of the Research and Special Programs Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation, which provides hazardous materials training tofederal, state and industry groups worldwide. He has also served as a manager and instructor with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Security Training Division in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dan has been a lead agent, supervisor, international inspector, federal air marshal, and air traffic controller with the FAA. Prior to his tenure with the FAA, Mr. Furlong served in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Furlong holds a degree from Oklahoma City University.
