Yoshio Kimura
Senior Staff Engineer, Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman-Committee for Electric Propulsion Vehicle, Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association
Yoshio Kimura is the Senior Staff Engineer at Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan. From 1999-2002, he was the Project General Manager of the Fuel Cell Development Division as well as of the Future Project Division where he directed the development of hydrogen storage technologies.
Dr. Kimura also works closely with organizations that are dedicated to the technological advancement of environmentally friendly vehicles. Earlier this year, he became the Chairman of the Electric Vehicle Subcommittee at the Japan Automobile Manufacturer Association. Since 2000, he has been the Chairman of the Japan Automobile Research Institute's Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle subcommittee. In addition, he continues to serve as the Chairman of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) TC22/SC21 (Electric Powered Road Vehicles) WG2, as well as a Japan delegate in technical committees for ISO/TC197/WG10 (Hydrogen Technologies/Transportable Gas Storage Devices) and the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC/TC105/WG6.
Dr. Kimura earned his undergraduate, masters and doctorate degrees in engineering from the University of Tokyo.
