Brian Wadsworth
Director of Logistics and Maritime Transport, Department for Transport
Brian Wadsworth is Director of Logistics and Maritime Transport for the UK Department for Transport, responsible for logistics and supply chain issues, shipping, road haulage and ports. He is also the Chairman of the Consultative Shipping Group, composed of 14 member nations and the European Commission. This January Mr. Wadsworth was elected Chairman of the new European Maritime Safety Agency.
In the 1990's Mr. Wadsworth was involved in a number of major transport sector privatizations, including British Airways, BAA, National Bus and British Rail's freight and parcels business. He has served as a specialist advisor on railway sector reforms for the World Bank. Mr. Wadsworth is a Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Royal Society of Arts, and is a Freeman of the City of London.
