Toru Nakamura
Chairman, Japan Tourism Association
Former President & CEO of Narita Airport Authority

Toru Nakamura is the Chairman of Japan Tourism Association and the Senior Executive Advisor to Narita Airport Authority (NAA). He is also Vice Chairman of the Airports Council International (ACI) and the immediate past President of the ACI Pacific Regional Board.

Mr. Nakamura joined the Ministry of Transport in April 1958, after graduating from the Faculty of Law at Tokyo University in March of the same year. He served in a number of senior management positions before being appointed as Vice-Minister in 1991. From 1994, he served as the President and CEO of NAA until he was appointed the Senior Executive Advisor to NAA in July 2002. He was also appointed as the Chairman of Japan Tourism Association in June 2002.

NAA hosted the 12th ACI World/Pacific Conference and Exhibition over 5 days from October 7-11, 2002, at the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel in Chiba prefecture, where Narita Airport is located. NAA welcomed approximately 1,000 guests from 122 airport operations and other aviation organizations from around the world.
