Yasuaki Numamoto
Vice President and Director NEC Planning Research, Ltd.
In June, 1994 Yasuaki Numamoto was sent to NEC Planning Research, Ltd. Since then he has been responsible for research on industrial and public systems, and also supervises the company's consulting service. Mr. Numamoto also serves as a member of several association committees, including the Japan Institute of Logistics Systems and Japan Marketing Association. Mr. Numamoto's specialties are on information systems for distribution, logistics and service industries, and marketing.
Mr. Numamoto entered NEC Co., Ltd. in 1964, and developed application packaging for business administration (forecasting) and computer marketing. Mr. Numamoto promoted computer utilization and modernization of distribution services for retailers, logistics and other service sectors, supervising business activities and providing technical advise for establishing information systems. Mr. Numamoto has also served on part in working committees for the development of information technology utilization in the distribution and logistics sector of industrial associations.
Mr. Numamoto has co-authored several books including Management Science and Computers, Guidebook for Computerization in the Distribution Sector, Challenge Toward Marketing Prejudice, Retailer Innovation for 2010 and Basic Logistics Terms Dictionary.
Mr. Numamoto has also written papers on bulletins of associations and societies, including, "IT and Logistics", "Trends of Information Technology Utilization in Road Freight Transport Sector", "An Information Network Plan for Future Logistics", "Computer Based System for Distributing Sector", "Multimedia Utilization in Distributing System" and "Marketing and Information Technologies."
